The EDP team in Ghana
Founder & Director of Education
Peter founded AWSHS. He strongly believes that the surest route to breaking cyclical poverty is through people empowerment; and that the starting point of empowerment is education.
His hope is that the young people who will benefit from schooling at AWSHS will become useful members of their communities.
Seth has been the Acting Headmaster of AWSHS since the very beginning.
His dedication to teaching and enthusiasm for learning fits him perfectly for the position - and his friendly, omnipresent smile is
always appreciated around the campus.
Rosie completed a foundation diploma in fine art at UCA before studying a joint degree in psychology with neuroscience at the University of Sussex. Rosie has been helping build up the school records and data files and will soon take over the pool project.
Whilst at AWSHS Rosie hopes to set up an arts and crafts club and assist with student welfare initiatives.
Xavier graduated from University College London with a Masters in Science with Merit in Globalisation and Latin American Development.
Xavier has taken on a number of responsibilities since his arrival at the school, which include running workshops to help some of the school's alumni to apply for full scholarships to Ghana's top universities, and approaching financial institutions in Accra to seek further support for some of the school's projects.
He is also aiming to develop and expand some of the micro-enterprises at the school so that they may provide employment opportunities for some of the school's alumni as well as new revenues for AWSHS.
