The EDP Club
EDP Club is an innovative campaign to build a community of friends, and to offer value for money to all our new and existing supporters. We depend greatly on donations to continue our work. EDP Club ensures that we can respond to the needs of the school and, most importantly, that you as a supporter are aware of the variety of projects that you can support.
EDP Club transforms the lives of disadvantaged youngsters in an impoverished community in Ghana, West Africa, by ensuring that they can access good quality education at Awutu-Winton Senior High School.
It costs £100,000 a year to keep AWSHS open and running, providing education to several hundred young people each year. All the funds raised through the EDP Club will enable us continue our work in Ghana.
There are three different levels of membership to maximise your impact.
E – Emerald plan – (£25/month).
This plan is for you if you prefer a standard student sponsorship programme. At only £25/month, (that is less than £6 a week!), your money will provide funding to educate one student for a whole year.
D- Diamond plan - (£12.50/month).
This plan is primarily to meet the costs of ongoing projects at the school. If you prefer timed projects, then there are five which require funding on an ongoing basis.
Pearl - (£5/month):
This pays for educational materials, books, meals, and uniforms for one child. For only five pounds a month, you can do an enormous amount of good! No gift is too small.
What you get in return
Besides giving you a huge feel-good factor, your gift helps to provide free secondary education to the most disadvantaged youth. These youngsters have been excluded from education because of poverty. We owe a debt of gratitude to you for deciding to join us. Together, we can work to achieve our mission of providing education to more children in Ghana. In exchange for your support, you will receive:
* A special thank you letter from EDP Trust
* Quarterly updates of specific projects and developments at the school
* Simple and cheap accommodation near the school, if you choose to visit AWSHS Ghana
* A special invite to our annual AGM/supporters’ party
As we are a small no-frills charity, you can be confident that every penny that is raised through the EDP Club goes directly to the school.

Gloria is one of our students at AWSHS and is just starting in form 2 Home Economics. Gloria is 17 years old and is originally from Accra. She grew up in extreme poverty, but now thanks to your help through the student sponsorship programme, she can complete her secondary school education and pursue her dream of being a nurse. Gloria’s dad passed away many years ago, and she misses him greatly. She is currently staying in Awutu Breku at her grandmother’s house to be closer to the school, but this is still a distance away. The completion of the hostel accommodation near the school has ensured that she does not need to travel too far to get there.
Gloria loves coming to AWSHS because of the serene environment, which helps her study. When she finishes Senior High School, she wants to go on to nursing school and specialise in maternity health. Gloria wants to support vulnerable women who come to the hospital to give birth but have been abandoned by their family. She aspires to help these women have safe births and give them the emotional support they desperately need to thrive. Gloria is a rising star because of your gift!
Your generosity really will make a difference...
...A BIG THANK YOU from all of the students at Awutu-Winton !!
